Denver, Colo. Thursday, April 13 – The Colorado Inclusive Economy Board of Directors names Stephanie Knight as the new CEO
The Colorado Inclusive Economy (CIE) is thrilled to announce the appointment of Stephanie Knight as CEO. Colorado Inclusive Economy is a statewide movement of design, intent, and action led by senior leaders who have made a long-term commitment to radically reforming business as usual in order to create the most inclusive economy in the nation.
Launched at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Colorado Inclusive Economy has grown to 120 member companies representing over 125,000 employees across the state. Together we are working to dismantle systemic racism by recruiting, retaining, and promoting diverse leaders at all levels of business. Stephanie Knight will propel the next growth phase for this dynamic non-profit organization; she assumes her new role on April 13. “On behalf of the Advisory Board of the Colorado Inclusive Economy, I am thrilled to welcome Stephanie to the helm. She is a proven leader of both nonprofit and for-profit organizations and a tireless champion for advancing equity and economic opportunity for all. Stephanie’s gifts of strategy and implementation will elevate CIE’s impact on our community,” says Helen Young Hayes, CIE Founder and Board Chairperson.
Stephanie has led several organizations, including the Senior Hub, the Better Business Bureau of South Alabama, the YWCA of Greater Mobile, and the Knight Business Group. Stephanie has done the hard work of diversifying a business by recruiting and hiring people of color for entry-level positions through board leadership. Her personal experience as an executive trying to increase opportunities for people of color will aid her and CIE tremendously.
“The Colorado Inclusive Economy stands alone in the work to break down barriers to prosperity and profit. No other region is addressing diversity, equity, and inclusion in business as a matter of statewide concern. I am beyond excited to lead the CIE movement and further craft an actionable blueprint that will enable other states to prioritize an equitable economy for those who reside there,” states Stephanie Knight.
